Pittsburgh Pirates!

(warning: be prepared for serious picture overload)
A couple weeks ago my parents surprised Blair and took us to a Pittsburgh Pirates baseball game.
For those of you who don't know, Blair is an avid Pirates fan.
He doesn't care that they have had 18 losing seasons...
they are still his team, and he has remained faithful!
The good news is, this year they are actually doing really well.
They are tied for #1 in the NL Central league.
So it was the perfect time for us to fly out to Pittsburgh for a game.
First of all,
Pittsburgh is a beautiful city.
Everything is so clean, and the people are so nice!
We loved it.
My dad's good friend Tim is the voice of the Pirates, so he hooked us up with amazing tickets, and press passes to see everything behind the scenes.
We were some of the first people let into the ballpark, and we got to enjoy batting practice from way up close.
The bullpen catcher even came over and chatted with us, and then tossed us a few balls!
Then Tim took us up into the press boxes for the most amazing view of the PNC Park.
It is honestly the most gorgeous ball park I have ever been to.
We also got to go under the stadium to see where the locker rooms were,
the tunnel the players come out of,
indoor batting cages,
etc.
Blair was in heaven, to say the least!
The game was really fun.
We enjoyed eating classic ball park food,
and felt right at home joining in on all the traditions that they have at PNC Park.
At the end of the game they had the most amazing firework show I have ever seen!
They had fireworks coming from inside the park,
going off the the bridge outside the stadium,
going off of a barge floating in the Allegheny River,
and even going off of two of the biggest sky scrapers in the city!
It was seriously unbelievable.
There was one point where it was so loud and there were so many fireworks that we all started screaming and laughing with amazement!
The best part was,
we had the best seats in the house.
Tim had us come back up to the press box to watch the show.
Talk about the perfect ending to the perfect day.
A big thanks goes out to Tim for helping make Blair's dream of going to a Pirates game come true!

We loved you Pittsburgh...
your city,
your people,
and especially your Pirates.
We will be back.
SOON.
