Two years ago when Corey Nelson drove all the way from Portland to Salt Lake City for our wedding, Blair and I promised ourselves that we would go to his wedding... no matter where/when it would be.
When Corey and Brittney called us and told us they were engaged and getting married on August 24th, we immediately booked our flights to Portland!
And it proved to be one of the best decisions we've ever made (for so many reasons).
We were able to explore Portland, as well as celebrate with Corey and Brittney.
We left for our trip on my birthday, and arrived late that night.
We spent the entire night catching up and the soon to be married couple.
The best part about great friends is that no matter how long it has been since you have seen each other, you pick right up where you left off.
Corey and Brittney are definitely some of our best friends,
we just wish we lived closer!!! Someday, hopefully. :)
The next morning we helped run a few wedding errands, and then we headed downtown to explore.
The city of Portland is gorgeous. We absolutely loved it, even though it is a little weird! haha.
After spending a few hours downtown, we headed to the Nike Employee Store.
Our good friend Parker helped us get in, and we were in Heaven. Everything is marked way down. We made out like bandits, and had such a great time.
From there we headed to the Portland Temple.
It is absolutely GORGEOUS.
It literally look my breath away. We had plenty of time to wander the grounds and just soak it all in.
We felt so extremely lucky to be in the sealing of Corey and Brittney.
It was very intimate, and wonderful in every sense of the word.
They are the sweetest couple. It was definitely an experience I will remember forever and hold very dear to my heart.
Corey asked Blair to be his best man, and I know that Blair was extremely honored!
After their sealing, we all headed out to a nice dinner to celebrate, and then set the happy couple on their way.
The next day Blair and I went on a beautiful hike.
The greenery in Oregon is amazing. We drove down an old historic road on our way to the hike that was lined with trees. It was stunning!
The waterfall is called Multnoma Falls.
The hike takes you up to the top of the waterfall. We loved every second of the hike and couldn't get enough of the scenery!
After the hike we headed down town again to go to the Saturday Market.
There are so many booths with food, trinkets, street performers, etc.
We had the best time.
That evening we headed to Corey and Brittney's reception.
It was in one of their friends back yard, and it was gorgeous.
Their yard sits on the top of a hill that overlooked the river... it was so picturesque.
Everything about their reception was perfect,
from the ring ceremony, to the food, to the flowers.
Loved every second.
The next day we were able to spend a little bit more time with Corey and Brittney before we had to head to the airport to go home.
We are so blessed to have such amazing friends!
We couldn't have asked for a better trip to Portland,
or for a better reason to be there. :)
